Lately we haven’t been doing as much work on this project considering we were ending our big project from our core classes. But now that that’s over, we can get back into the focus mode for this project.
Kit and Stephen have been working on the Strength of We website while I [Lynn] have been thinking of more fundraising ideas to do over the summer. I have been working with Ashanti to think up of fundraising ideas. The ones that we have so far are: a beach party, school dance, text-a-thon, radio broadcast, radio carnival type thing, advertise on MySpace, dollar-a-day [each person from HTH brings $1 on a day], catwalk cabaret, advertising letters/gift baskets/raffle, school concert [get bands to come here and play a concert], physical fitness day, black Friday bake sale and lan parties.
Ashanti and I are still thinking of more ideas and pretty soon we are going to start trying to plan some of these for the summer and have people come out and help with the cause. The MySpace advertisement has already been done though. I posted a blog on my MySpace that explains the project and what we are doing and to inform people to help out.
